Over 60 staff from all eight Federation schools gain vital life-saving skills through online learning and practical training

At the start of September, more than 60 dedicated staff from across the eight schools of the Moorland Federation came together to strengthen a vital life skill – first aid.

Every member of staff invested time in online training modules, building their knowledge of how to respond in the first instance to medical situations ranging from everyday cuts, bumps, and fractures to serious, potentially life-threatening emergencies such as anaphylaxis, respiratory difficulties, and cardiac conditions.

This essential knowledge was then brought to life in a full day of hands-on, practical learning, delivered by the highly skilled trainers from Tigerlily Training. Staff were able to put theory into practice through a wide range of scenarios and exercises, developing both confidence and competence in their ability to respond swiftly and effectively should an emergency arise.

The trainers were praised for their clear delivery, practical demonstrations, and for answering the many questions raised by staff, ensuring everyone left with greater confidence and reassurance in their ability to act when it matters most.

By equipping so many staff across the Federation with up-to-date first aid training, the Moorland Federation is continuing its commitment to keeping pupils, staff, and the wider school community safe and well.
