These assessments take place in the May of year 6 (age 11) and are more formal tests in English (grammar, punctuation, spelling and reading) and maths.

The attached document below, details the percentage of pupils who achieved the expected standard and the higher standard in reading, writing and maths.

Moorland Federation Signs Up to Burnout Awareness Charter to Strengthen Staff Wellbeing

The Moorland Federation has signed up to the Burnout Awareness Charter through Includability, reinforcing its commitment to staff wellbeing in response to rising levels of stress across the education sector. By embedding proactive approaches to recognising and preventing burnout, the Federation aims to create a healthier working environment for staff, supporting retention, reducing absence and ultimately strengthening outcomes for pupils.

Magical “Crystal Kingdom” Workshop Inspires Moorland Federation Pupils

Pupils across the Moorland Federation took part in an engaging Crystal Kingdom workshop, working alongside Minehead Middle School to explore storytelling, emotional resilience and self-belief. Through shared reading, discussion and interactive activities, children developed both their literacy skills and understanding of wellbeing, with many continuing the experience at home with their families.

The Moorland Federation’s “Heads Up for Air Rescue” bike ride brought together pupils, staff, families and the wider community in an extraordinary day of support and celebration. Joined by parent Matt Price, our three Heads cycled to all eight Federation schools. Cheered on by children with handmade signs, flags and incredible enthusiasm at every stop.
