Working closely with the Head of School and Federation colleagues, you will take pride in maintaining high standards across the school site. From daily cleaning routines to supporting site safety, security and basic maintenance, your work will directly contribute to creating a welcoming and well cared for environment where children can learn and thrive.

This role would suit someone practical, proactive and dependable, who enjoys working independently while also being part of a close-knit school community.

We’re looking for someone who is:

·       Committed to maintaining high standards of cleanliness, hygiene and site safety

·       Reliable, organised and able to manage a varied workload

·       Proactive and able to identify and respond to site needs

·       Knowledgeable of (or willing to learn) health & safety procedures and compliance requirements

·       A strong communicator who works well with staff and external contractors

·       Trustworthy and able to maintain confidentiality

·       Committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children

·       Conscientious and vigilant in securing and locking the school site

This role will suit you if you have:

·       A practical, hands-on approach and take pride in your work

·       Experience in cleaning, caretaking, site management or a similar role (desirable but not essential)

·       Basic maintenance skills (e.g. minor repairs, DIY tasks)

·       An understanding of health & safety requirements within a workplace or school setting

·       The ability to work independently and use initiative

·       Good attention to detail and high standards

·       A flexible approach to respond to the needs of the school

Key responsibilities will include:

Cleaning Duties:

·       Daily cleaning of classrooms, shared areas, toilets and staff spaces

·       Maintaining high standards of hygiene across the school

·       Managing cleaning supplies and equipment

Caretaking / Site Duties:

·       Opening and locking the school site as required

·       Ensuring the site is safe, secure and well presented at all times

·       Carrying out basic maintenance and minor repairs

·       Liaising with contractors and supporting site access where required

·       Supporting statutory compliance checks (e.g. fire safety, water hygiene, equipment checks – training can be provided)

In return, we offer:

·       A welcoming and supportive school and Federation community

·       Friendly and dedicated colleagues who value teamwork

·       A varied and rewarding role at the centre of school life

·       Opportunities for professional development and training

·       The chance to make a meaningful difference within our school community

·       Enthusiastic and friendly children who make our schools such special places to work
