Mrs Lucy Walker-Blair

Lucy brings a vibrant blend of experience, leadership and a genuine passion for early years education to her role as Acting Head of School at St Dubricius. She earned her PGCE in 2011, specialising in Primary Education with Early Years, marking the beginning of a career dedicated to nurturing young learners.

Her journey began with two years of dedicated teaching in Dulverton, before she joined St Dubricius in 2013. Here, her versatility has shone through as she has taught across Nursery to Year 4.

• PGCE (Primary with Early Years specialism), Qualified 2011
• MEd in Professional Development, 2014 — achieved a Distinction for her dissertation exploring the link between physical development and early writing

Certifications and responsibilities:

• NPQML (National Professional Qualification for Middle Leadership), 2015
• Literacy Lead at St Dubricius - spearheading evidence-informed literacy development
• Moorland Curriculum Champion, 2024 - driving shared curriculum innovation across the federation
• Senior Mental Health Lead, 2025 - promoting wellbeing and emotional support for school communities
• Senior Teacher, 2025 - providing professional guidance and leadership to teaching colleagues

Outside of school, Lucy embodies dynamic energy and resilience! She’s a keen triathlete who recently completed her first Ironman 70.3. Her love of the outdoors is reflected in her regular runs with her dog, bringing the same dedication and joy to her personal life as she does to her professional one.
